Q&A about Glow in the Dark Stars for Ceiling
The old 5-point glow in the dark stars (and washing powder) used to glow green and fade fairly quickly. This was because the chemicals they were made from absorbed light energy (generally UV) and temporarily stored it in their atoms. When the light was turned off this energy was released and struck other chemicals in the mix – e.g. the green ones in the wash powder – to emit a visible colour of light (our eyes are most sensitive to blue, hence green stars).
Our glow in the dark stars for ceiling are made with new generation phosphorescent material which is safer and lasts far longer. They can be applied to any surface, including textured ceilings and are very easy to remove if no longer required.
