The story of the Glow in the Dark Ocean tells of six animals who live on the shore in Australia. There are three dolphins, two seals and two sea life fish. One of the parents takes care of their young, but overtime the parents die. They burrow into the sand to escape the bright light, but soon come back to life and begin exploring the buried rock layers. As they grow older, they see more fish, and then more of them show up.

Soon, the animals are ready to return to the sea to give birth, but must navigate their way through the dense underwater ocean flora and fauna. This requires the kind of skill and finesse only an experienced nature lover can provide. It is up to the baby dolphin to guide them safely home. This fascinating book includes detailed instructions on how to use the glow-in-the-dark ocean blanket, as well as its benefits to the animals.

The book uses multiple simple and inexpensive problem-solving techniques to teach kids how to make glow-in-the-dark ocean crafts using household materials that are easily available and inexpensive. The children make and color their own glow-in-the-dark ocean animals using acrylic paints and markers, and then attach them to a piece of clothing with a reflective tape. These fun projects let kids practice and improve their skills, while having fun doing it. These printable glow in the dark ocean activities also encourage creativity and allow kids to learn about the delicate currents, and strong winds, that are part of their natural environment. All this, for just a few dollars!

In the book, marine biologist, Dr. Jennifer Anderson, explains the fascinating life processes that occur at various depths below the surface of the ocean. She gives the information needed for parents to help their children prepare to go swimming if they have questions about the dangers of swimming in shallow water. Kids will enjoy watching jellyfish swimming by, especially when illuminated. For jellyfish, the glowing ocean craft made of a jellyfish-shaped pvc plasticator is a great prop for underwater exploration. The bright colors and shape of this glowing ocean craft help children visualize jellyfish swimming by. Other glow in the dark ocean craft ideas include making fish eyes using yellow and green fluorescent dye, and constructing bright orange and red fish bowls that guests can fill with aquarium-quality fish and decorations.

For many years, marine scientists have been experimenting with jellyfish and their unique color changing ability. With the help of Dr. Anderson and her team of volunteers, children can participate in one of these unique research projects, which involve assembling jellyfish colored pontoons from plastic polyethylene and laying them in a tank of colored water. As the pontoons move, they randomly change in pattern and color – encouraging kids to color the walls, door, and even lamp outside of the tank to match the moving patterns. All this, for only a few dollars! Glow in the Dark Ocean Print activities will help children explore the world around them in a new way – as a science project!
